Huawei to Launch MediaPad M5 and M5 Pro

Huawei to Launch MediaPad M5 and M5 Pro

The Android tablet space might be closer to a barren wasteland than a thriving market, but that did not stop Huawei from announcing the MediaMad M5 and M5 Pro during MWC 2018 in February. Since then, however, the Chinese manufacturer has remained tight-lipped about the tablets’ price and availability.

Huawei finally broke its silence today and announced how much the MediaPad M5 and M5 Pro cost in the U.S., as well as where and when you can get your hands on them.

Keep in mind that the MediaPad M5 is available in 8.4-inch and 10.8-inch variants. Display resolution and most of the specifications remain the same across both versions, though the 10.8-inch version features a larger battery and four speakers.

The 8.4-inch version of the MediaPad M5 costs $319, while the 10.8-inch version goes for $359. The MediaPad M5 Pro, meanwhile, goes for $449.

Interestingly, there is a tremendous amount of overlap between the 10.8-inch MediaPad M5 and the MediaPad M5 Pro. Both tablets share the same display size and resolution, Kirin 960 chipset, 7,500mAh battery, and quad-speaker system. They even feature the same pogo pins at the bottom that allow you to connect a keyboard to the tablets.

The differences are in the niceties. The MediaPad M5 Pro includes the M Pen, a stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, along with the aforementioned keyboard dock. You would have to buy these accessories separately if you pick up the 10.8-inch MediaPad M5.

Finally, while both variants of the MediaPad M5 come in Space Gray, the MediaPad M5 Pro is also available in Champagne Gold.
