Samsung Galaxy Note 8 spotted on Geekbench with Exynos 8895

The Galaxy Note 8 has been one of the most widely anticipated handsets of the year. The successor the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 is said to come with an edge-to-edge Infinity display, dual cameras at the rear, improved S-Pen capabilities and much more. Now the Note 8 has been seen paying a visit to Geekbench which has shed some light on the smartphone’s specifications.

A prototype Note 8 with the model number SM-N950F destined for Europe and other global markets in a single-SIM avatar has been spotted on benchmarking platform Geekbench. The smartphone seems to have performed quite admirably, with a single-core score of 1984 and a multi-core score of 6116.

Spotted by Telefoon.nl, the listing reveals the smartphone powered by Samsung’s very own octa-core Exynos 8895 chipset, the same processor found in the global variant of the Samsung Galaxy S8. Additionally, the phone has 6GB of RAM and is running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Previous rumours claim that the Galaxy Note 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 or the Exynos 8895 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and a 3,000mAh battery. Additionally, the smartphone is expected to come with a 6.3-inch edge-to-edge display, much like the one found on the Galaxy S8 with a QuadHD resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

On the imaging front, it is widely claimed that the Galaxy Note 8 will come with a dual camera setup at the back – a primary 12MP wide-angle sensor with an aperture of f/1.7 and optical image stabilisation alongside a secondary 12MP telephoto camera which will allow for 2X optical zoom.

The Galaxy Note 8 is also expected to come with at least 64GB of internal storage which will be expandable via a micro-SD card, a rear mounted fingerprint sensor, IP68 water and dust resistance, a dedicated Bixby button and a glass and metal body. The smartphone could also have a Force Touch pressure sensitive display similar to the 3D touch technology found on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 series of smartphones. The smartphone is expected to retail for 999 Euros, which roughly translates to Rs 75,749.
